Job Summary

Perform advanced mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles while following CarMax inspection and repair processes. Diagnose and service systems including brakes, steering, suspension, alignments, and heating/air conditioning, while meeting CarMax quality standards and maintaining a clean shop per 5S. Manage customer communication during repairs, review and close repair orders accurately, and maintain parts inventory and EH&S compliance.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform advanced mechanical repairs including engine performance, drivability, and electrical systems.
•Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, and suspension; perform complete 4-wheel alignments and service heating/air conditioning systems.
•Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness per 5S principles.
•Consult with customers on repair needs, explain services performed, and ensure clear communication.
•Review and close repair orders accurately and manage parts inventory by receiving shipments and maintaining proper stocking levels while following EH&S requirements.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 32 - 48 hourly

Key Requirements

•Completion of New Associate Orientation Training (Operations) and Kronos Training for hourly associates.
•Maintain ASE Certifications for required areas (Steering and Suspension, Brakes, Heating Air Conditioning, Electrical, Engine Repair, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Engine Performance, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle) where required by state/local law.
•Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately.
•Capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
•Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods; flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
