Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform advanced mechanical repairs including engine performance, drivability, and electrical systems.
  • •Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, and suspension; perform complete 4-wheel alignments and service heating/air conditioning systems.
  • •Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness per 5S principles.
  • •Consult with customers on repair needs, explain services performed, and ensure clear communication.
  • •Review and close repair orders accurately and manage parts inventory by receiving shipments and maintaining proper stocking levels while following EH&S requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Completion of New Associate Orientation Training (Operations) and Kronos Training for hourly associates.
  • •Maintain ASE Certifications for required areas (Steering and Suspension, Brakes, Heating Air Conditioning, Electrical, Engine Repair, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Engine Performance, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle) where required by state/local law.
  • •Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately.
  • •Capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • •Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods; flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
