Key Responsibilities

  • •Undertake rail and road bridges and associated structural engineering schemes from inspection and assessment through feasibility to detailed design.
  • •Lead technical design and assessment on road and/or rail structures, including hands-on or leading feasibility studies.
  • •Assist with supervision of engineers, graduate engineers, and technicians as appropriate.
  • •Prepare technical documentation through to client sign-off of Technical Approval documentation.
  • •Assist with production of design risk assessments and support tender preparation, including quality documentation and costings, plus project management activities including programme/resource monitoring, quality control, and delivery.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree educated (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as bridge, civil or structural engineering, with MSc (or equivalent) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • •Graduate Member with ICE and IStructE and a proven commitment to gaining Chartership.
  • •Experience with bridge and related structural inspection, assessment, and design across feasibility through detailed design schemes.
  • •Knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, and assessment codes.
  • •Working knowledge of AutoCad and experience designing concrete, steel, timber (not essential), and masonry structures.
