Key Responsibilities

  • •Accurately locate and mark company facilities (transmission & distribution systems, service lines, and other facilities).
  • •Read and interpret system maps to support accurate marking.
  • •Work with company crews and outside contractors to be available for needed re-marking to prevent damage.
  • •Investigate natural gas facility damages to determine root causes.
  • •Maintain accurate records and reports to comply with company and regulatory requirements, and address safety and encroachment issues.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in natural gas, damage prevention, service, construction and maintenance, and/or pipeline operations with a thorough understanding of company operations.
  • •Must obtain and maintain Operator Qualifications (OQs) and required classroom training/certifications within six months.
  • •Valid driver’s license per Company standards.
  • •Ability to communicate, persuade, and/or influence internal and external customers with strong interpersonal skills.
  • •Proficiency using the company internet/intranet, taking/uploading digital photos of marking activity, and using systems for data entry, reference, and retrieval.
