Key Responsibilities

  • •Review and synthesize scientific, technical, and market reports into structured inputs for quantitative modelling and assessment.
  • •Develop policy-relevant insights, including policy recommendations and policy briefs, based on modelling results.
  • •Apply global and national energy system and integrated assessment models within EU-funded research projects, supporting climate policy processes (including contributions to IPCC processes).
  • •Draft reports and/or presentations on the energy sector based on model outputs.
  • •Take end-to-end responsibility for research and consultancy projects and liaise between modelling and policy-oriented work to align quantitative results and narrative outputs.

Key Requirements

  • •MSc and/or PhD in engineering, applied mathematics, computational modelling, operations research, mathematical economics, energy/climate policy, or physics.
  • •Professional experience in energy systems analysis, climate policy and/or integrated assessment modelling, including developing and interpreting scenarios for policy analysis.
  • •Applied experience using analytical and/or modelling tools, with programming knowledge in R, Matlab, Python, or preferably GAMS.
  • •Experience translating quantitative modelling results into policy-relevant insights for non-technical audiences.
  • •Manage and coordinate research and consultancy projects to deliver timely, high-quality results.
