Job Summary

Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance for BEUMER baggage handling systems, supporting the Individual Carrier System (ICS) at Gerald R. Ford International Airport. Diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems, respond to interruptions, and execute preventive/corrective maintenance per standards and OEM documentation. Monitor health via diagnostics and dashboards, log maintenance and spare parts usage, and collaborate on system upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform routine and advanced maintenance on BEUMER ICS components, including elements, diverters, scanners, and third-party interface equipment.
•Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems using structured troubleshooting methods.
•Respond to system interruptions (carrier jams, sensor faults, control logic errors) by executing resets and conducting root cause analysis.
•Perform preventive and corrective maintenance aligned with BEUMER standards and OEM documentation, including proper safety practices (lockout/tagout, PPE).
•Interface with BEUMER SAC and PLC systems to monitor performance and execute logic-based interventions; maintain maintenance/fault logs and support upgrades and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

•Electrical or mechanical degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience.
•0–2 years of hands-on experience in automated material handling systems, preferably in airport or logistics environments.
•Must be eligible to obtain and maintain airside security clearance.
•Deep understanding of mechatronic systems including sensors, actuators, motors, and controls.
•Proficiency with BEUMER SAC systems and PLC programming (Siemens preferred) for fault diagnostics.
