Job Summary

Lead and develop the Database & Streaming squad in Delivery Hero’s Developer Platform, building automation for data storage and streaming, owning the product roadmap, balancing usability with security, and mentoring engineers across career levels in a Kubernetes–Go environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the team responsible for building automation for data storage (SQL & NoSQL databases, caches) and data streaming components for developers in the Developer Platform.
•Own the Product roadmap alongside the Product counterpart, guiding the team to build iteratively and Deliver Value Fast.
•Balance customer ease of use with security requirements, ensuring developers can own the systems they build while complying with internal and external security standards (e.g., PCI-DSS).
•Clarify that this is a software-focused role, not a DBA or infrastructure management role.
•Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize work and ensure delivery of high-impact tooling.

•This is a software-focused team; you'll manage the software development lifecycle from ideation to release, including testing and staged releases.
•Ability to break projects into components and deliver iteratively to maximize value for most customers.
•Experience leading technical teams with engineers at different career stages, including mentoring Staff and Principal level engineers.
•Solid knowledge of Kubernetes Operators and Golang is a strong plus.
•Strong understanding of either data storage systems or streaming systems, ideally in the cloud.
