Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that improve how associates work and how customers interact with Capital One.
  • •Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training, LLM inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
  • •Leverage a broad stack of open source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch.
  • •Invent and apply state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, and throughput in production systems.
  • •Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 215,200 - 245,600 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/AI/Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related) plus at least 4 years developing AI/ML algorithms or technologies, or a Master's plus at least 2 years.
  • •At least 4 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • •At least 6 years deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure (or equivalent private cloud).
  • •Experience designing, developing, delivering, and supporting AI services.
  • •Experience with LLM inference, similarity search, VectorDBs, guardrails, or related AI/ML capabilities using Python and/or C++/C#/Java/Golang.
