Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee adherence to the Athene Model Risk Management Policy and relevant regulatory requirements and support reporting on the state of model risk.
  • •Facilitate the Model Risk Management working group, including scheduling, agenda setting, coordinating cross-functional input, and tracking action items to closure.
  • •Partner with business functions to identify new models or significant model changes and maintain the accuracy and completeness of model inventory.
  • •Provide oversight of independent model validations (or perform independent validations when required) and challenge first-line model owners and developers.
  • •Oversee model risk reporting to internal stakeholders and, where applicable, external stakeholders such as regulators and auditors.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of experience working with insurance actuarial, financial, or risk management models as a model developer or validator.
  • •Bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Quantitative Finance, Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • •Actuarial designation (e.g., FSA, ASA) or CFA, PRM, FRM designation desired.
  • •Self-driven individual contributor who can partner with the business to execute validations under tight deadlines.
  • •Strong analytical and technical skills with excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
