Job Summary

Serve as an advanced Service Technician for DoorDash Labs’ robotics and automation operations, supporting the Phoenix fleet and acting as a first responder on a traveling technician bench. Diagnose complex faults in robotic systems, electrical/control hardware, and support vehicles; perform component-level repairs; calibrate diagnostic tools; and document detailed troubleshooting for the service management system. Work on-site in the Phoenix/Mesa, AZ area with short-notice deployments to other service locations.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute senior-level service technician tasks, including diagnosing complex, intermittent, or unusual faults in robotic systems, modular components, and support vehicles.
•Perform advanced repairs with component-level troubleshooting and fixes on electrical systems, control units, and related hardware with minimal supervision.
•Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic flowcharts to guide troubleshooting efforts.
•Document diagnostic processes, root-cause hypotheses, troubleshooting steps, repair details, and component failure information in the service management system to support knowledge base updates.
•Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Level 2 Technicians and independently manage/prioritize assigned workload, including deploying with short notice to other service locations.

Key Requirements

•2+ years of service work experience.
•Strong communication and documentation skills.
•Curiosity and a strong inclination for mechanical repair.
•Prior experience in vehicle or fleet service (especially electric or autonomous vehicles), robotics, or aircraft is a major plus.
•Experience with JIRA, MaintainX, and other service tools; ability to travel on short notice (as little as 12 hours) and hold a valid U.S. driver’s license (MVR required).
