Job Summary

Provide primary medical care within Defence health services as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering care in outpatient or inpatient settings, assessing fitness for duty, and advising on clinical matters to Defence leadership. Based at Puckapunyal, you will join Serco’s ADF Health Services and contribute to on-base healthcare across 45+ locations, with CPD and employee wellbeing support.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.
•Be part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
•Assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care to support health pre- and post deployments.
•Provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit Commanding Officer, Joint Health Command Health Centre Manager, and unit Commanders.
•Work in either an outpatient setting or inpatient ward as required.

Key Requirements

•Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
•Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
•Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
•Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
•Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
