Key Responsibilities

  • •Participate in Teck health and safety programs to support everyone going home safe.
  • •Collaborate with engineering and operations to develop daily, weekly, and monthly mine operations plans.
  • •Support mine layout and develop pit and dump arrangements, including drill & blast strategies and production scheduling.
  • •Contribute to drilling, blasting and surveying activities and provide technical services to mine production and other departments.
  • •Monitor operating areas and perform analyses, including geotechnical evaluations, economic/efficiency evaluations, and capital expenditure documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •Enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Mining/Mineral Resource Engineering (or equivalent experience), with a background in Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering considered.
  • •Experience in an open-pit mine (operationally or engineering capacity) is a significant asset.
  • •Comfort working outdoors in a multifaceted industrial environment and being able to operate vehicles in varied weather/terrain.
  • •Proficient in MS Office (Windows) with advanced MS Excel skills.
  • •Experience with Minesight or similar mine planning software is an asset, along with strong communication skills.
