Key Responsibilities

  • •Contribute to engineering design of Hunter Class Frigate Underwater Warfare Systems, ensuring coherency with Combat System leads and Design Authorities
  • •Capture and maintain functional, physical, and specialist engineering suite of information (safety, security, EMI/C) including fully agreed physical and functional interfaces
  • •Design definition documentation for sonar dome and polemasts, supporting platform and combat system integration needs
  • •Review and approve technical and programmatic data deliverables from underwater warfare system vendors to ensure consistency with contracted requirements
  • •Provide technical expertise across procurement input, design reviews, installation/activation/testing/trials/acceptance, engineering change activities, and coordination of documentation for manufacturing and RVCA

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic or Aeronautical Engineering
  • •Experience in naval platforms, particularly sonar systems and topside design (highly regarded)
  • •Experience of combat system integration, installation, test, trial, and acceptance of equipment in a Naval environment (highly desirable)
  • •Knowledge of system engineering development methodologies, strategies and toolsets used in a Naval environment
  • •Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain and eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations
