Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and maintain web applications underpinning BEAR and Baskerville NCR services.
  • •Develop and maintain Python-based middleware and integration libraries to automate, coordinate, and manage BEAR and Baskerville NCR services.
  • •Design, implement, and integrate solutions for new services/capabilities in collaboration with colleagues.
  • •Deploy and maintain applications and services on BEAR Cloud virtual machine infrastructure.
  • •Improve automated workflows/integrations and testing/CI practices; participate in triage and housekeeping rotas, investigating and resolving incidents and technical issues.

Key Requirements

  • •Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or relevant technical qualification, with considerable relevant experience.
  • •Python software-engineering skills, including designing, building, and/or maintaining reliable software.
  • •Comfort developing and deploying software in Linux environments.
  • •Experience with collaborative version control workflows (e.g., Git) and modern software delivery practices (CI/CD).
  • •Ability to decide what to automate (including where a “human in the loop” is needed) and investigate complex technical issues to deliver robust solutions.
