Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide and implement short/medium-term pit and dump designs, development, rehabilitation, and water management activities in line with Rio Tinto standards.
  • •Coordinate activity plans and schedules with stakeholders and monitor compliance of progress against plan milestones.
  • •Own delivery of drilling & blasting designs, blasting tie-in, and explosives forecasting.
  • •Communicate options, designs, and plans with stakeholders to ensure safe and environmentally respectful execution.
  • •Identify continuous improvement initiatives and provide support to achieve improvements.

Key Requirements

  • •University degree in mining engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • •At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with strong mine design, planning, and scheduling software skills.
  • •Experience in operating/driving in the mining environment and holding a biometric driving permit.
  • •Strong communication skills with stakeholders; preferably bilingual French/English (oral and written).
  • •Ability to build working relationships, strong safety attitude, flexibility to change, and understanding of the Rio Tinto code of conduct and respectful behaviors.
