Job Summary

Lead field operations for Protection and Control (P&C) testing and energization projects supporting utility substations, industrial, and bulk power systems. Execute on-site protective relay testing using tools such as Omicron and Doble test sets, validate advanced testing sequences, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Coordinate with engineers and subcontractors, lead field crews and logistics, and document work using digital tools and mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead field operations for complex construction and infrastructure projects, providing technical guidance and overseeing day-to-day site activities.
•Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations, including on-site protective relay testing and validation of test sequences.
•Lead field crews and coordinate site logistics, safety protocols, job hazard analyses, and quality control procedures.
•Act as primary field liaison with clients, contractors, vendors, and project managers; communicate progress, risks, and technical concerns.
•Document activities using field forms and digital/mobile tools, manage equipment/tool inventory and fleet oversight, and support incident response and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 11 years of electrical testing industry experience.
•Expertise testing transmission, generation, and distribution relays and protective schemes (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE families).
•Advanced protective relay technical skills, including calibration with Omicron CMC 256/356 and Doble F6150, control scheme testing, CT/PT circuit testing, and microprocessor relay settings upload.
•Experience applying electrical field testing standards and practices such as NETA, IEEE, and NFPA.
•Strong knowledge of technical testing software/data review tools and the ability to troubleshoot field challenges and equipment malfunctions.
