Key Responsibilities

  • •Embed with the Defense organization on the questions that shape the business, owning the financial picture for executive and Board visibility.
  • •Develop defense pricing and agreement structures, building models that connect price to delivery costs and margin and applying judgment to novel situations.
  • •Partner with go-to-market, Legal, and Contracts on pursue/pass decisions, proposal economics, and negotiation strategy for major opportunities.
  • •Build defensible views of defense budget direction, reachable funding sources, and timing from customer interest to signed contract; turn this into plans leadership can use.
  • •Advise on R&D investment and resourcing by translating product roadmaps and customer requirements into cost, margin, and headcount implications; set forecasting cadence and deliver business narratives behind the numbers.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 175,000 - 230,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of finance, corporate development, or strategy experience within defense tech, defense primes, aerospace, investment banking/PE, or related sectors.
  • •Deep understanding of government budgeting and procurement, including funding sources, acquisition processes, and funded requirements.
  • •Experience owning business outcomes such as P&Ls, pricing decisions, strategic deals, margin improvement, and spend management.
  • •Hands-on experience building with AI, using tools such as Cursor or Claude Code to automate workflows, build applications, and develop AI agents.
  • •U.S. Person status, required due to access to export-controlled information.
