Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate assigned heavy, off-road equipment (e.g., drills, loaders, dozers, trucks, excavators) in a safe and productive manner for quarry production.
  • •Service equipment before daily operation by checking oil levels, hydraulic/coolant/other fluids, tires, and overall machine condition.
  • •Fuel assigned machines from storage tanks with diesel fuel and maintain safe operation around self and fellow crew members.
  • •Perform plant maintenance with minor repairs and assist mechanic with breakdowns, hose repairs, welding, or scheduled maintenance.
  • •Maintain a clean work area by shoveling/cleaning around the plant and reporting potential problems; comply with random drug testing requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Knowledge of MSHA rules and applicable safety training practices, including first aid and safety compliance for the specific task.
  • •Ability to operate heavy, off-road equipment safely and efficiently, and perform basic maintenance/inspection such as checking fluids and machine condition before operation.
  • •Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds, climbing 8–10 foot ladders, and operating controls for extended periods; able to coordinate multiple foot pedals and hand signals.
  • •High school graduation or equivalent preferred.
  • •Six months minimum experience on smaller loader, dozer, or off-road machinery preferred.
