Lead Cost and Commercial Assurance commissions for major construction programmes and projects within the UK Infrastructure business. You’ll assess incurred costs, scrutinise construction contracts and contract administration practices (including NEC3/4 and ICE Bespoke), and identify risks and opportunities to recommend improvements for clients. Use analytics tools like Power BI/Tableau to test data and produce clear written findings reports, while supporting junior colleagues and engaging with both clients and the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver Cost and Commercial Assurance commissions, reviewing and scrutinising actual incurred cost and driving supply chain improvement and efficiency.
•Undertake assurance reviews across major construction projects, assessing supply chain systems, processes, and contract administration for compliance and control effectiveness.
•Analyse complex construction contracts and commercial matters, including variations, claims, compensation events, forecasting, risk allocation, and commercial performance.
•Perform data and information testing using analytics and visualisation techniques (e.g., Power BI/Tableau) to identify trends and patterns.
•Produce concise written findings reports with practical recommendations, and support junior colleagues and client/supply-chain relationship management.

Key Requirements

•Experience or a sound understanding of assurance or audit in a construction, commercial, or accountancy setting.
•Strong construction industry knowledge, including procurement routes and cost/contract concepts such as target price and pain/gain calculations.
•Contract management experience with NEC3/4 (Option C, E) preferred.
•Ability to assess the accuracy and entitlement to cost, including change management and forecast control.
•Degree qualified (or equivalent) and/or holding or working towards a relevant professional body membership (e.g., MRICS, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, MCIPS).
