Job Summary

Own end-to-end data migrations for municipalities adopting GovWell, transforming messy legacy exports, inconsistent codes, and geospatial data into clean, trusted production data. Serve as the gatekeeper for data quality and the technical face of onboarding by leading customer calls, explaining requirements and tradeoffs, and preventing unsafe data from reaching production. Collaborate across Deployment, Product, and Engineering to improve repeatability and reduce time-to-launch as you scale.

Key Responsibilities

•Own data migrations end-to-end by configuring schema mappings and ingestion settings, running validations and dry-runs, and ensuring accurate data lands in GovWell.
•Act as a gatekeeper for data quality by identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and edge cases before they reach production.
•Lead customer onboarding calls, explaining data requirements and tradeoffs to non-technical government staff.
•Improve migration processes using internal tools, templates, and playbooks to reduce time-to-launch and manual work.
•Close the feedback loop by documenting recurring issues, unmet assumptions, and tooling gaps to help evolve Product and Engineering.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 130,000 - 180,000 annually

Key Requirements

•2-4 years of hands-on experience in data migrations, ETL/ELT, technical implementations, or related work with messy production data.
•Strong SQL proficiency used in analysis, validation, reconciliation, and transformation.
•Ability to work day-to-day in a Python codebase (reading, debugging, and shipping changes via PRs), ideally in a data/pipeline repo.
•Experience translating ambiguous stakeholder requirements into concrete, testable migration/implementation plans.
•High ownership and attention to correctness in execution-heavy environments where mistakes impact customer trust.
