Job Summary

Support the Chefs by preparing simple meals and ancillary items, keeping all catering areas clean, safe, and well-maintained in a care home setting. Help with dishwashing, equipment handling, and kitchen upkeep (including floors, tables, and appliances) while following cleaning schedules. Maintain food safety and Health & Safety requirements, including HACCP records, and contribute to an organised, secure kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare simple meals and ancillary items for service under the direction of the Chef.
•Wash dishes by hand or load the dishwasher and store clean items safely to minimise breakages.
•Sweep and mop kitchen floors to keep them free from grease or spillage.
•Wash work tables, walls, kitchen equipment, and appliances in line with cleaning schedules.
•Maintain food safety and Health & Safety policies and records outlined in the HACCP policy.

Key Requirements

•Knowledge of working in a care environment and stock control is ideally required.
•Organised, adaptable, and able to work well in a team and using your own initiative.
