Job Summary

Oversee the storage and conservation of antiquities, including developing operational plans, policies, and performance indicators. Manage artifact preservation, cataloging, documentation, and database records, and lead preventive restoration programs. Supervise annual inventory and matching against records, ensure safe packing/shipping/insurance for loan requests, and establish risk and emergency procedures for storage environments. Conduct inspections, support compliance, and develop capable Emirati nationals through training and capability building.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee preparation of annual operational plans, performance indicators, targets, and associated projects and programs for the storage function.
•Develop and implement storage policies, procedures, and operating processes; propose and track related performance measures.
•Manage preservation activities for antiquities, including classification, accurate documentation, and maintaining/updating artifact and collection databases.
•Supervise annual inventory and matching processes against artifact records; prepare and submit related reports.
•Lead preventive restoration and risk/emergency preparedness procedures for storage conditions; coordinate inspection activities and corrective actions.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, History, and Antiquities (or equivalent) from an accredited university; a Master’s is preferred.
•6 years of relevant work experience.
•Ability to develop and manage operational plans, KPIs, and budgets for antiquities storage.
•Experience managing preservation, classification, documentation, and updating artifact/collection databases with accuracy and integrity.
•Ability to lead inventories, inspections, risk/emergency procedures, and coordinate packing, shipping, and insurance for loans.
