Key Responsibilities

  • •Support and promote safe practices aligned with company policies and compliance requirements, acting as a regulatory compliance resource for OSHA, EPA, and SCDES.
  • •Lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis, partnering with plant operations to determine corrective and preventive actions.
  • •Evaluate job hazard assessments and drive mitigation actions; assist with proactive EHS strategies for projects impacting the facility or employees.
  • •Develop and deliver safety, health, and environmental training, including safety stand downs and weekly safety topics, and ensure follow-up on committee actions.
  • •Compile and track compliance documentation, conduct routine facility inspections, manage industrial hygiene requirements and sampling, and coordinate onsite management and disposal of hazardous wastes.

Key Requirements

  • •Typically requires a University Degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with a minimum of 3 years experience.
  • •3+ years of experience in a safety and/or environmental role in an industrial setting.
  • •Must meet one or both criteria: served as an EHS Specialist for 3+ years, or recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in an EHS discipline.
  • •Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state safety and environmental laws and programs (e.g., OSHA, EPA, SCDES).
  • •Ability to work independently and be comfortable in a plant environment, including being on call as needed 24/7.
