Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide specialist accounting advice on the application of IFRS 17 and ensure compliance with the standard.
  • •Support review, update, and drafting of HSBC global accounting policies with clear interpretations relevant to products and markets.
  • •Engage with auditors and external accounting bodies to discuss technical topics and implications for HSBC.
  • •Identify and assess impacts of changes in external accounting, regulatory, and legal requirements for the HSBC Group.
  • •Develop application guidance and deliver training materials to support internal stakeholders’ understanding and implementation of IFRS 17.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified Financial Professional in accounting, finance or actuarial discipline with at least 8 years work experience.
  • •Prior experience in an accounting policy or IFRS technical accounting role.
  • •Strong ability to deliver high-quality analysis, recommend solutions, and challenge issues with a critical mindset.
  • •Excellent communication skills, including explaining IFRS technical concepts to local Finance teams, businesses, and senior stakeholders.
  • •Proven influencing and leadership skills, reaching consensus on technical topics within set timeframes.
