Job Summary

Serve as a key legal advisor in Group Legal for trade sanctions matters, delivering practical cross-border legal advice to stakeholders. Monitor and interpret rapidly evolving sanctions regimes across UN, EU, UK, US, and Switzerland, support investigations of potential breaches, and develop risk-mitigation approaches. Partner with Compliance and other functions to shape policies and internal guidelines, while maintaining sanctions documentation and supporting the sanctions lawyers network.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide legal advice and conduct legal research to deliver practical solutions for complex, multi-jurisdictional sanctions matters.
•Support investigations of potential sanctions breaches, coordinating with external counsel and regulators as needed.
•Identify key trends and developments in sanctions regimes (UN, EU, US, UK, Switzerland) and translate them into business guidance.
•Partner with Compliance and other functions to shape internal guidelines, policies, and the Group’s approach to sanctions.
•Manage sanctions documentation, tracking, and follow-up, including sanctions clauses and shared knowledge resources.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in Law or equivalent professional legal qualification in an EU/UK/US jurisdiction, with bar admission a plus.
•At least 2-4+ years of relevant experience at an international law firm or in-house legal department, including trade sanctions, AML, or international business law.
•Strong understanding of relevant sanctions regimes, particularly EU, UK, US, and Swiss frameworks.
•Strong drafting skills and ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical, user-friendly guidance.
•Excellent command of English is essential; additional languages are a plus.
