Build and lead a physical security program for multiple 1X sites, including designing high-standard on-site security operations with clear escalation paths and consistent real-time incident response. Develop and manage a trusted security team, partner cross-functionally with Facilities, Manufacturing, IT, Legal, and People to identify risks early, and create scalable security processes, reporting, and emergency response capabilities as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

•Build and lead a physical security program across the San Carlos and Hayward sites.
•Create a high-standard on-site security operation with strong coverage, escalation paths, and real-time response to incidents, investigations, visitors, and workplace safety situations.
•Develop and lead a security team that is trusted, operationally sharp, and capable of handling sensitive situations with sound judgment.
•Partner closely with Facilities, Manufacturing, IT, Legal, and People to identify operational risks early and strengthen workplace safety and resilience.
•Build scalable security processes, reporting, and emergency response programs to improve visibility and operational readiness as 1X grows.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 220,000 - 275,000 annually

Key Requirements

•10+ years of experience in physical security, including leading security operations across multiple sites or complex environments.
•Experience managing on-site security teams and handling incident response, access control, CCTV, visitor management, and guard operations.
•Proven ability to build or scale physical security programs in operationally intensive environments.
•Bachelor’s degree required.
•Strong communication, judgment, and de-escalation skills in highly dynamic environments.
