Job Summary

Operate and maintain a tack truck for asphalt paving operations, applying asphalt emulsion (tack coat) to roadways and paving surfaces to ensure proper adhesion between layers. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitor spray rates and coverage patterns, and safely load/transport/unload emulsion materials. Coordinate with crews and dispatch, follow DOT and safety/environmental policies, complete required reports, and assist with other construction and labor duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Safely operate a tack truck to apply asphalt emulsion on roadways, parking lots, and paving surfaces.
•Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required vehicle inspection reports.
•Monitor spray rates and application patterns to ensure proper tack coat coverage per project specifications.
•Coordinate with paving crews, equipment operators, and supervisors to support daily operations.
•Safely load, transport, and unload asphalt emulsion materials, performing routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting as needed.

Key Requirements

•Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B, with appropriate endorsements.

•Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
•Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around construction equipment.
