Key Responsibilities

  • •Control material taken into the paver and manage material depth and distribution.
  • •Operate paving machines to maintain a constant flow of asphalt or other material into hoppers or screeds.
  • •Perform minor servicing and maintenance; inspect, clean, maintain, and repair equipment or report malfunctions.
  • •Cut or break up pavement, operate curbing machines, and install materials in joints or expansion joints.
  • •Set up/tear down equipment, coordinate truck dumping, shovel blacktop, control traffic, and maintain regular attendance.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.
  • •At least 1 year of experience and/or training in a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • •Must maintain a current driver’s license that meets state requirements (CDL; Class A and/or B) with possible hazmat and tanker endorsements.
  • •Must comply with OSHA/MSHA safety requirements and procedures and be willing to work nights/weekends and travel away from home when required.
