Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver end-to-end LV/MV/HV power infrastructure projects, including new/upgraded substations, switchgear, transformers, SCADA, and protection systems, aligned to ESB Networks, airport safety rules, and IEC/EN standards.
  • •Lead renewable and resilience initiatives such as BESS, solar PV, backup generation, and UPS strategies, and help shape the airport electrification roadmap.
  • •Oversee condition surveys and lifecycle assessments for substations, transformers, switchgear, and buried utilities using methods including GPR, partial discharge testing, and thermographic analysis.
  • •Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and design governance across electrical, civil, structural, ICT, and controls, including technical reviews, HAZOPs, commissioning planning, and proper handover.
  • •Manage programme delivery commercially and operationally in a live environment with zero tolerance for disruption, administering NEC4 contracts and managing compensation events and change control to control cost, risk, and programme.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years delivering complex power infrastructure projects, ideally in a live safety-critical operational environment.
  • •Strong technical grounding across LV/MV/HV systems, substations, and renewable/resilience infrastructure (e.g., BESS, solar PV, backup generation).
  • •Hands-on experience with NEC4 contract administration (Options A, C, and D).
  • •Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary design teams and complex stakeholder landscapes.
  • •Safety-first experience including RAMS, permit-to-work systems, and electrical isolation procedures.
