Key Responsibilities

  • •Own major projects in the dual execution stack so DuckDB processes queries seamlessly locally or in the cloud.
  • •Help build a cloud platform that dynamically assigns resources to keep DuckDB efficient across workloads.
  • •Lead cross-functional work with frontend, platform, and infrastructure teams to maintain a coherent end-to-end user experience.
  • •Advance embedded database performance, distributed execution, and DuckDB internals.
  • •Debug issues with support, learn from real usage patterns, and mentor teammates while improving engineering practices.

Key Requirements

  • •Built and shipped complex backend systems.
  • •Fluent in a backend/systems language such as C++, Rust, or Java.
