Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate heavy equipment on road construction projects related to asphalt paving.
  • •Maintain efficient working condition of the equipment and perform minor servicing and maintenance or escalate major problems to the supervisor.
  • •Apply knowledge of paving industry details including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, and compaction.
  • •May perform related tasks such as shovel work, setting string line, and adding or removing screed extensions.
  • •Possibly oil/grease and make normal operating adjustments during operation.

Key Requirements

  • •At least three years of experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., motorgrader, bulldozer, excavator, front end loader).
  • •Prior experience operating heavy road construction equipment.
  • •Road construction project experience preferred.
  • •Ability to oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
  • •Understand asphalt paving fundamentals such as preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, and compaction.
