Key Responsibilities

  • •Train new-hire and job-bid employees on essential job skills, safety practices, and job-specific techniques, including knife handling and sharpening.
  • •Observe employees on the production floor and provide real-time coaching and retraining when skills or behaviors don’t meet expectations.
  • •Document training attendance, daily observations, and employee progress accurately, and help prepare progress reports and support job-bid qualification reviews.
  • •Collaborate with area supervisors to communicate training needs and performance concerns, and participate in M-IQ tier meetings using Leader Standard Work (LSW).
  • •Rotate to different shifts as needed, support onboarding with plant tours and PPE training, and travel to other facilities for start-up projects as required.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of relevant experience, required.
  • •Experience in manufacturing operations, preferred.
  • •Communicate clearly and confidently with strong written and oral communication skills to guide and support others.
  • •In lieu of a High School Diploma or GED, have 6 years of Smithfield manufacturing industry experience.
  • •Bilingual ability is a plus for connecting with a diverse workforce.
