  • •Recruit, present, and sell the ERIE Agency Career to prospective agents and producers; select, hire, train, and develop new independent agents.
  • •Influence independent agents to sell ERIE products and services; provide training on products, underwriting, servicing, and agency operations.
  • •Oversee handling of policyholder, agent, and claimant complaints and inquiries; partner with the branch manager to address underperforming agents.
  • •Serve as a field underwriter by inspecting and authorizing binding of coverage on extraordinary property and casualty risks within binding authority limits.
  • •Develop and implement agency and district business plans and budgets to achieve sales objectives, profitability goals, and long-term market share targets.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent of four years of sales, underwriting, claims or marketing experience, required.
  • •Three years of sales, underwriting, claims or marketing experience OR participation in DSM Training Program required.
  • •Incumbent must live in the territory assigned unless a change is approved by the company.
  • •Extensive local travel, including overnight stays, required.
  • •Valid driver’s license and good driving record required; related designations such as CIC, CPCU, CLU preferred.
