Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure safe and efficient operation, maintenance and repair of propulsion, auxiliary, deck and electrical machinery onboard the vessel.
  • •Plan and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and availability.
  • •Work with the Vessel Master to maintain operational efficiency and respond to engineering matters affecting vessel operations.
  • •Monitor fuel, lubricants and water consumption and maintain accurate engineering records and reports.
  • •Supervise contractors and support compliance with safety, environmental and pollution prevention requirements, including maintaining emergency equipment and procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold an MCA Certificate of Competency as Officer of the Watch Engineering (EOOW) (minimum).
  • •Hold current STCW certificates: Personal Survival Techniques, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, Survival Craft, and Elementary First Aid.
  • •Have a valid unrestricted ENG1 medical certificate.
  • •Take a methodical approach to problem-solving, working independently and collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
