Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families at assigned installations.
  • •Provide one-on-one counseling, consultation, and referral resources as appropriate, including support for spending plans for extended absences.
  • •Develop and provide informational financial materials and coordinate Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
  • •Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars and facilitate virtual counseling via secure electronic modes when authorized.
  • •Coordinate with installation and branch points of contact, communicate trends/issues to leadership, and support supervision, in-services, and quality improvement activities.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required; may consider an associate degree with 4 years’ experience or a high school diploma with 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • •Must have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
