Job Summary

Build and improve TikTok Search ranking and recommendation algorithms for billions of global users. Work on end-to-end search engine systems using information retrieval and machine learning, tackling trillion-scale indexing, ultra-long user sequence modeling, sparse models, and large language model–driven ranking. Apply modern ML, AI, and NLP/CV techniques to enhance query understanding, video understanding, and multiple stages of result ranking in close alignment with product objectives.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop search and recommendation algorithms using information retrieval and machine learning to improve user experience at scale.
•Work on large-scale challenges including trillion-scale index libraries, ultra-long user sequence modeling, and sparse models.
•Explore how large-scale models can transform next-generation search, recommendation, and ranking systems.
•Leverage short-video multimodal understanding, generative models, scaling laws, sparse MoE, and reinforcement learning for search and recommendation services.
•Use ML/AI/NLP/CV to improve ranking algorithms across query understanding, video understanding, and multiple levels of result ranking.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or a related technical field.
•Proficient coding skills and strong algorithm/data structures using C++/Python/Java.
•Solid knowledge of machine learning with practical experience applying it.
•Effective communication and teamwork skills.
•Modeling experience in one or more areas such as ads, search engines, recommender systems, or NLP/CV.
