Job Summary

Ensure the care home’s facilities and equipment remain fully functional by completing planned maintenance, repairs, and compliance checks using Bupa’s digital systems. Maintain cleanliness and safety to meet Environmental Health, Fire Authority, Legionella risk assessment, and health & safety requirements. Coordinate refurbishments with minimal disruption, manage contractors and quotes, and support emergency exit and evacuation processes.

Key Responsibilities

•Carry out health, safety, and compliance checks using Bupa’s digital systems and compliance tools/software within the required timescales.
•Action and close maintenance tasks attributed to the Maintenance Manager or home in Bupa compliance management tools/software.
•Maintain safety and cleanliness across the care home and grounds to meet Environmental Health, Fire Authority, Legionella risk assessment, and Health & Safety requirements.
•Complete maintenance and repair tasks to a high standard, including internal decoration to meet first-impression expectations; manage defects, quotes, and contractor repairs.
•Support refurbishment/capex programmes with minimal disruption and assist with inductions on emergency exits, fire points, and evacuation procedures.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 17.05 hourly

Key Requirements

•A good understanding of building services (heating, hot/cold-water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution, and plumbing).
•Sound understanding of building fabric and maintenance, including planned maintenance systems and record keeping.
•Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and experience of compliance.
•A full driving licence and a building/electrical/plumbing qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC etc) or at least 3 years hands-on property maintenance experience.
•Practical ability in painting and decorating and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
