Lead Xapo’s first-line financial-crime operation as an accountable function with owned outcomes across both regulated entities (Xapo Bank and Xapo VASP). Own the end-to-end process for alerts, RFIs, onboarding review, screening, and monitoring within Board-ratified appetite bands. Drive key AFC metrics, balance cost-to-serve with risk, optimize manual review to reduce customer friction, and partner with AI and CISO teams to improve clearance rates.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, scale, and run the end-to-end first-line AFC operating model for alerts, RFIs, onboarding review, screening, and monitoring across both entities.
•Operate within Board-ratified appetite bands by making definitive judgements and escalating strictly by exception.
•Take total accountability for the AFC metric set, including open-alert volume and ageing, manual-review rates, automated clearance, false-positive and blocked-payment ratios, and iSAR timeliness/quality.
•Partner with the CFO to map capital and cost-to-serve impact, ensuring financial-crime effectiveness and cost are managed as one unified balance sheet.
•Line-manage and develop AFC analysts, optimize the manual-review model to reduce customer onboarding delays, and incorporate lessons from incidents and near-misses into first-line standards.

•Comfort working with CFO-level stakeholders on numbers, cost-to-serve, and capital impact as part of the risk balance.
