Job Summary

Develop and implement onboard motion planning software for autonomous drones, spanning low-level stabilization and control to high-level planning frameworks. Collaborate with UX to define planning UI boundaries, while designing and evaluating new planning strategies and controllers to enable robust, real-time autonomous flight.

Key Responsibilities

•Conceive, design, implement, simulate, evaluate, and fly new motion planning strategies for autonomous drones.
•Work across the software system to define the right data and interfaces for successful motion planning.
•Develop, tune, and evaluate low level controllers.
•Work with the UX team to explore and define planning/UI boundaries for new interaction paradigms.
•Provide robust software engineering practices to ensure clean, well-architected code.

Key Requirements

•Experience writing software that controls real hardware (e.g., robotic arms, self-driving cars, mobile robots)
•Knowledge of configuration and free space representations
•Familiarity with modern and classical control design methods
•Experience with dynamic programming
•Experience with non-linear optimization
