Own the technical direction of the Ad Eventing team, architecting and evolving an end-to-end, high-throughput ad event pipeline from client beacons through validation, deduplication, enrichment, and downstream fan-out. Scale event ingestion to billions of events/day with exactly-once semantics and sub-second SLAs, build stream-processing pipelines, and define authoritative event schemas and reliability/observability practices that power billing, reporting, pacing, and ML.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the technical direction of the Ad Eventing team, including architecture reviews, incident leadership, capacity planning, and scaling.
•Architect and evolve the end-to-end ad event pipeline from client beacon receipt through validation, deduplication, enrichment, and downstream fan-out under strict latency/throughput constraints.
•Scale event ingestion infrastructure to handle billions of events per day with high availability, exactly-once semantics, and sub-second processing SLAs.
•Design and implement robust deduplication and validation systems to ensure event accuracy across retries, network failures, and client-side inconsistencies.
•Build and operate stream processing pipelines, define authoritative event schemas/data contracts, and partner with Ad Serving, Pacing, Reporting, and Science teams to meet consumer accuracy, latency, and completeness requirements.

•10+ years building distributed systems and backend services at large scale, with 3+ years in the ads domain.
•Deep experience with high-throughput event ingestion and stream processing (Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming, or equivalent).
•Experience building and operating event deduplication, validation, and attribution systems in high-stakes data environments.
•Strong understanding of exactly-once and at-least-once delivery semantics, idempotency patterns, and relevant tradeoffs.
•Experience designing event schemas and data contracts for multiple downstream consumers with different latency and consistency requirements.
