Job Summary

Develop and own a trusted data foundation for Business Analytics, evolving dbt models into modular, documented, and tested layers from raw sources to marts. Shape the semantic layer by defining and governing metrics, and establish data modeling standards through code review and documentation. Partner with Data Scientists and Analysts on datasets for dashboards and ML models, build testing and observability in CI, and maintain Prefect workflows while diagnosing upstream data issues.

Key Responsibilities

•Evolve the dbt project toward modular, documented, and tested data models organized into clear layers from raw sources to marts.
•Define and govern metrics in the semantic layer and drive its adoption.
•Establish and uphold data modeling standards for the Business Analytics team through code review, pairing, and documentation.
•Partner with Data Scientists and Data Analysts to design datasets used for analyses, dashboards, and ML models.
•Build data testing practices with enforcement in CI and observability, maintain Prefect workflows, and diagnose upstream data issues with partner teams.

Key Requirements

•3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a comparable data role working with large data sets.
•Expert in SQL, able to write and review complex queries.
•Hands-on experience with dbt or a comparable transformation framework and strong data modeling principles.
•Engineering discipline for analytics code, including version control, code review, testing, and CI.
•Comfortable with Python and experience using a workflow orchestration tool (Prefect, Airflow, or Dagster).
