Job Summary

Monitor and support aluminium smelters across the Rio Tinto Pacific region from the Operations Centre. Use the Vigie software and standardised processes to analyse reduction process data, generate alarms and escalations, and help manage process deviations to maintain operational stability. Work a 12.5-hour day/night 4, 5, 5 shift roster in Brisbane CBD, collaborate with site teams remotely and on site visits, and follow HSE principles.

Key Responsibilities

•Continuously monitor (24/7) all reduction lines operations and processes within the Pacific Operations smelters.
•Identify operational/technical instabilities, diagnose issues, and prioritise timely interventions with site collaboration.
•Proactively engage remotely with technical teams, supervisors, and process controllers, including participation in OC and site toolbox meetings.
•Apply a standardised approach to work and promote effective communication to deliver operational excellence.
•Conduct site visits to improve process knowledge and collaborate with site teams, while following Rio Tinto HSE principles.
