Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and design heat rejection and HVAC systems for data centers, including cooling requirements, redundancy/concurrent maintainability, energy efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
  • •Select and size appropriate air/water cooling systems (e.g., CRAHs, chilled water, DX, CRAC, in-row cooling, containment) based on cooling requirements and equipment criticality.
  • •Conduct internal and external CFD simulations to optimize airflow distribution, identify hotspots, and recommend design modifications after analyzing results.
  • •Design redundancy and fault-tolerant HVAC features, including backup cooling systems, automatic switchover, and monitoring for continuous operation.
  • •Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning for current and future expansions, and coordinate HVAC loads for admin and common areas.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education).
  • •Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation.
  • •P.E. registration is required.
  • •Knowledge of data center TER Standard Topology (Uptime Institute), TIA 942, and ANSI/BICSI 002.
  • •(Preferred) Professional certifications related to HVAC engineering such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP), or LEED accreditation.
