Job Function: Software Engineering
Seniority: Mid level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, build, and maintain Heidi’s deterministic automation engine for interacting with EHRs without native integration.
  • •Create UI-automation flows that map accessibility trees, enter templated fields, and perform structured write-back reliably across web and desktop systems.
  • •Implement patient-matching and validation logic to ensure data lands on the correct record with patient data safety as a non-negotiable constraint.
  • •Prototype automations with AI-assisted tools (Claude Code, Cursor) and harden working flows into production-grade code.
  • •Engineer work queues, retries, and exception handling; monitor reliability, instrument runs, and partner with health systems to map real workflows during live rollouts.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven problem-solving and strong ownership, with a portfolio/GitHub/demo showing real automations that solved problems for real users.
  • •Production experience with UI automation (e.g., Playwright, accessibility-tree frameworks like FlaUI, or an RPA platform).
  • •Python as the primary language; C# or TypeScript is a plus.
  • •Deterministic-systems instincts (queues, retries, idempotency, exception handling) to make automations fail loudly rather than wrongly.
  • •Ability to work with brittle or legacy third-party interfaces and ensure patient-data safety; comfort using LLM APIs and AI-assisted development is expected.
