Job Summary

Own BJAK’s regulatory roadmap across Southeast Asia, securing required licenses, approvals, and operating permits. Serve as the primary liaison with high-level government officials and regulators, negotiating license terms and advocating policy positions. Translate growth plans into a proactive, compliant regulatory strategy for new markets, monitor global regulatory changes, and advise C-suite on regulatory risk before issues block execution. Partner with Legal, Product, and Leadership to embed requirements into business planning.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the regulatory roadmap by securing licenses and approvals for business objectives and market entry.
•Negotiate with government and regulatory bodies and advocate policy positions supporting BJAK’s growth agenda.
•Develop and execute regulatory strategy for new market entry and high-priority projects, managing multi-agency approvals.
•Manage end-to-end lifecycle of licenses and operating permits, including renewals and proactive compliance.
•Monitor and translate complex regulatory changes into clear advice and implementation plans for leadership, partnering with Legal and Product teams.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in Government Relations, Regulatory Affairs, or Licensing in a multi-jurisdictional environment.
•Proven track record leading strategic regulatory negotiations and managing complex government approvals.
•Deep knowledge of government licensing and regulatory frameworks in Malaysia, including experience navigating new markets.
•Exceptional relationship-building and diplomatic skills for engaging high-level officials.
•Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Administration, or a related field (required).
