Key Responsibilities

  • •Pour iron from a 2-ton ladle into the Asea furnace.
  • •Take metal samples from the Asea furnace and deliver them to the Met Lab.
  • •Operate the Asea furnace and fill the alloy bin and alloy disc tubes with correct sizes.
  • •Place ram and swing pattern halves, fit the proper coremask, and set correct cores for the Disa.
  • •Coordinate DISA operations (coresetting, alloy addition, and metal pouring) and assist with repairs; clean the area and perform daily safety inspections.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • •Must pass a Lift Truck Operator safety training course and maintain a current license.
  • •Must be able to read and perform basic math functions.
  • •Must be trained in the operation of the Disamatic, either formally or by an operator who was trained formally.
  • •Must be willing and able to operate equipment safely and meet physical requirements (standing, lifting, walking, bending).
