Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide Child and Youth Behavioral counseling services (assessment, brief counseling, consultation, action planning, referrals, and follow-up) to eligible children and youth at assigned locations.
  • •Support CDC and youth program/summer camp staff with parent support, training, and guidance, and maintain line-of-sight protocols when working with children.
  • •Deliver training and health/wellness presentations and participate in health fairs and other installation activities focused on children and youth.
  • •Enter counselor activity data daily through a smart phone or web application, maintaining confidentiality and anonymity of service/family members.
  • •Coordinate with installation/branch Points of Contact and Regional Supervisors, participate in supervision and in-services, manage duty-to-warn/restricted reporting per DoD protocol, and respond to critical incidents and urgent requests.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health-related field.
  • •Valid unrestricted independent counseling license (LCSW/LICSW/LCSW-R/LICSW-CP, LPC/LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent) to practice as an independent practitioner.
  • •Less than 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
  • •Intermediate-level competency with technology and software (Microsoft Suite, internet navigation, smartphone/tablet and app navigation, video-conferencing platforms).
  • •Must be able to prove US citizenship and be fluent in English; must pass CNACI and an Installation Records Check (IRC), criminal history background check and FBI fingerprints check.
