Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop PCIe software that manages high-speed communication between hardware components in Arista switches.
  • •Bring up PCIe links on new hardware designs and tune PCIe parameters on root ports, bridges, and endpoints.
  • •Modify Linux PCI drivers and virtual memory allocation related to PCIe.
  • •Use AER and DPC to improve error visibility and resiliency on PCIe links.
  • •Develop userspace software mediating between networking ASICs, FPGAs, and PCIe bridges; measure performance and write automated tests in C/C++/Python.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years fluency in C or C++ with strong engineering and Computer Science fundamentals.
  • •Python experience is a plus.
  • •Solid understanding of PCIe hardware and software drivers.
  • •Knowledge of PCIe state machine, LTSSM, TLP, and credit flow control is a plus.
  • •Experience with PCIe switches and troubleshooting low-level firmware issues.
