Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop multi-year transportation and equipment strategy aligned to division growth, including rail/barge optimization and quarry capacity unlock.
  • •Design and implement an S&OP process connecting demand forecasting, production planning, transportation capacity, and financial targets into one operating cadence.
  • •Own interfacility transportation and last-mile delivery strategy/execution across rail, barge, and truck, balancing service, cost, capacity, and demand variability.
  • •Oversee strategic procurement and category management for high-value spend, including vendor strategy/negotiation, low-cost-country sourcing, and total cost of ownership.
  • •Build and retain a high-performing supply chain and procurement organization, champion technology adoption, and lead safety- and continuity-focused operations.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of progressive leadership in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or operations in heavy industrial or construction materials.
  • •Experience building or leading strategic sourcing/category management, including vendor negotiation, supplier consolidation, and total-cost-of-ownership decisions.
  • •Deep rail logistics expertise, including managing Class I railroad relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing rail network performance.
  • •Proven ability to build new supply chain/procurement processes and teams in complex, multi-site environments, with measurable financial outcomes.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; MBA strongly preferred.
