Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform routine laboratory testing on rock core samples according to standard methods and specifications.
  • •Prepare, label, log, and manage samples to maintain accurate tracking and traceability.
  • •Operate laboratory equipment for rock core testing, including load frames, direct shear apparatus, and sample cutting and grinding equipment.
  • •Record observations and test results in laboratory logs, templates, and digital systems.
  • •Follow health, safety, and quality procedures; assist senior technicians with test setup, equipment cleaning, and lab organization.

Key Requirements

  • •College diploma or certificate in geological technology, civil engineering technology, construction/materials engineering, or a related field.
  • •Experience with sample handling, mineral identification, and/or site investigations through academic, co-op, or entry-level experience.
  • •Exposure to materials or geotechnical testing through academic labs, internships, co-op terms, or early-career roles.
  • •Familiarity with basic laboratory practices and materials testing equipment.
  • •Strong attention to detail and ability to safely perform repetitive laboratory testing tasks.
