Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and grow a data infrastructure and data-focused research team, balancing shared infrastructure and dedicated modeling efforts.
  • •Set the technical direction for how multimodal data is processed, stored, and served at web scale.
  • •Drive creation of SOTA multimodal pre-training datasets, including annotation models and curation strategies.
  • •Establish a rigorous, empirical approach to data quality by training and evaluating models to understand what makes data valuable.
  • •Hire, mentor, and develop engineers and researchers as the team scales, and partner with modeling and research teams to translate data work into better models.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven management experience, including directly leading a data team of at least 6 people.
  • •Hands-on familiarity with data infrastructure at scale, including processing, storage, and making large-scale data usable.
  • •A track record of building and leading data efforts, ideally in the context of a modeling project.
  • •Previous modeling experience (nice-to-have).
  • •Familiarity with multimodal data (audio, speech, and beyond) (nice-to-have).
